The side fence can be used as a fence with spring-loaded stop pin and for mounting additional stop "K" when cutting rows of holes.
It can also serve as an edge guide; the distance to the edge is continuously variable by way of a knurled screw.
The side fence attaches to the baseplate.
Without marking, pairs of holes can be drilled a long distance from the reference edge.
